Wolfgang started to play the acoustic guitar at the age of 13.
Very soon he discovered a special relationship to the bass guitar.
His first bass was an old Höfner violine bass sunburst. At the age
of 14 he founded a band mainly covering songs from
THE BEATLES and ROLLING STONES.
Wolfgang realized that playing in a cover band was not really
his thing. As a teenager he loved the music of the 60s and 70s.
His favourite bands and musicians who inspired him most were
THE BEATLES, DEEP PURPLE, SANTANA, LED ZEPPELIN, CCR,
PINK FLOYD, YES, GENESIS, CAMEL, JETHRO TULL, KANSAS.
One day he heard the album YESSONGS and that was the famous
"point of no return". He was deeply fascinated by YES bass player
Chris Squire and also of YES itself. Wolfgang searched intensively
for a progressive rock band in order to compose and play own
progressive songs. Early 1978 Wolfgang posted an advertisement
and it did not take long that soon he met Michael and Stefan
Roessmann for the first time. He joined TUT ENCH AMUN
and at the end of the year Wolfgang and the Roessmann brothers
During his studies in the 80s he got more and more into contact
with classical music and increased his musical horizon with
music composed by J. S. BACH, L.v.BEETHOVEN, GUSTAV HOLST,
MODEST P. MUSSORGSKY, RICHARD STRAUSS.
